Updated mask policy for visitors and caregivers

In response to a rise in infections, CIUSSS West-Central Montreal is reintroducing the use of face masks in certain areas to help reduce the spread of respiratory viruses. These measures aim to protect the well-being of all healthcare users and staff.
Masks are mandatory for visitors and caregivers in the following situations:

  • When with hospitalized patients in acute care (hospitals) and rehabilitation sites
  • In high-risk clinics, such as hemodialysis, oncology, and rheumatology

Masks are recommended:

  • When visiting residents in long-term care facilities
  • When accompanying someone to any clinical area across the CIUSSS, unless mandatory masking is required

If you’re experiencing symptoms of a respiratory infection, please consider postponing non-essential visits.

Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
